Payment of health care and contract insurance
Patients with commercial insurance (pVZP, Uniqa, AXA) are required to contact their respective insurance providers and request that a “Guarantee of Payment” be sent to our email address at reception@swissmeds.cz for Prague 1 &4 and on reception@medi-star.cz for Prague 2, before visiting the clinics. Failure to do so may result in the patient being responsible for immediate payment and seeking reimbursement directly from their insurance.

Pregnancy package

We provide care for pregnant clients from the very beginning up to the 40th week of pregnancy. A wide range of examinations is performed directly in our clinic, without the need to refer clients to hospitals or other facilities.
- Fetal ultrasound examination at each check-up, including fetal biometry (public health insurance covers only three ultrasound scans during the entire pregnancy)
- Ultrasound examination for fetal growth restriction at 36 weeks of pregnancy, including blood flow measurement
- Partner’s presence during the ultrasound examination
- Ultrasound images
- Blood sampling performed directly at our clinic
- First-trimester screening and detailed fetal morphology scan are not included in the package
Public health insurance covers only three ultrasound examinations during the entire pregnancy
NT+ examination at 12–13 weeks of pregnancy (combined first-trimester test)
A combination of ultrasound and biochemical screening can detect nearly 90% of fetuses with Down syndrome. This is an above-standard examination not covered by public health insurance. However, insurance companies may provide partial reimbursement.

Fetal ultrasound examination at 36 weeks of pregnancy
This examination, recommended by the Czech Gynecological and Obstetrical Society as well as international authorities, is not yet covered by public health insurance. The price is 1000 CZK.

At our workplace, it is possible to perform the Panorama test
The purpose of the performed test is non-invasive (pregnant blood sampling) prenatal examination of the fetus of the current pregnancy for the most common chromosomal abnormalities, trisomy of chromosome 21 (Down syndrome), 18 (Edwards syndrome), 13 (Patau syndrome), and abnormalities in the number of sex chromosomes X and Y (exclusion Turner, Klinefelter, triple X and XYY syndrome). If necessary, we can also rule out rarer microdeletion syndromes
